Whole-cloth Quilts and Machine Quilting Lecture/Trunk Show:
Approximately 1 hour : $400 + travel expenses
Tammy will share machine quilting tips and ideas for whole-cloth
quilts quilted on domestic machines. Trunk show follows with
many machine quilted quilts and samples, including Pearls From
Grandma and Something in Red.
Machine Quilting Basics-Domestic Machine: 3-4 hour class : $400
+ travel expenses
In this beginner's class, we will discuss needles, thread, batting,
tension and quilt preparation. We will cover how to set up your
sewing area to make machine quilting easier on you. In the
hands-on portion, we will learn how to use a walking foot and
practice some free-motion techniques with the quilting/darning
foot. Kit includes the pre-marked muslin, batting and backing for
class. $10 kit fee. Students must provide machines and other
supplies.
Heirloom Background Textures-Domestic Machine: 3-4 hour class :
$400 + travel expenses
Students will be shown several background quilting ideas to make
quilting designs spring to life. "Faux trapunto" tips will be shared.
These techniques are perfect for whole-cloth and applique quilts as
well as open areas on pieced quilts. Everyone will work on a small
sampler to bring home. Kit will consist of a pre-quilted 22" wall
quilt for you to fill in with the background techniques taught in
class. Many sample quilts will be available for inspiration. Previous
free-motion quilting experience is helpful for this class. $20 kit fee.
